Learn how Replit automates key revenue workflows while keeping headcount lean during hypergrowth with Campfire's AI-native ERP.
- 20X revenue growth without adding finance headcount
- 30 minutes to close revenue (vs. 8 hours on QuickBooks)
- 4-person accounting team managing $200M+ ARR
"Campfire helped us automate so much of the revenue workflow when we went from $10M to over $200M in ARR without having to grow our accounting team." — Tim Ryan, Senior Accounting Manager at Replit
About
Replit is an agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. As a pioneer in no-code web app generation, Replit serves over 40 million users globally, including industry-leading enterprises such as Zillow, Duolingo, and Coinbase.
Challenge
Navigating Hypergrowth with a Finance Stack That Couldn't Keep Pace
For nearly a decade, Replit established a strong market presence by offering cloud-integrated development environments that enable organizations to write, run, and host code. However, when the company solidified its pivot toward AI coding (with the launch of Replit Agent), the resulting surge in adoption placed an enormous strain on its existing finance stack.
At the time, Senior Accounting Manager Tim Ryan was overseeing a 4-person accounting team that relied mostly on QuickBooks and Excel for core accounting flows and financial reporting. Because Replit Agent boasts a usage-based pricing model spanning thousands of transactions per month, consolidating that revenue data into spreadsheets was entirely unfeasible.
QuickBooks also lacked a native integration with Stripe, meaning Tim's team would frequently work across several disparate BI platforms just to wrangle revenue data into a presentable state for leadership and auditors. As a result, revenue accounting and reporting alone would consume several days of their limited time per month.
The impact spanned beyond foundational workflows. As Replit entered hypergrowth, Tim needed the ability to deliver tailored financial statements across a diverse base of stakeholders. Achieving that level of granularity through QuickBooks would not only require extensive platform expertise but also command even more of the team’s limited bandwidth.
To help the team navigate through Replit’s most crucial growth phase, Tim sought an AI-native ERP that could seamlessly automate revenue schedules and deliver the reporting flexibility QuickBooks couldn’t. That’s when he discovered Campfire.
"After we launched Replit Agent, transaction volume exploded almost overnight. I wasn't going to lock up a team member for days every month assembling a monstrosity of a spreadsheet just to calculate revenue. We needed a more robust stack, or we'd have to double staff just to keep pace."
Solution
Automating Revenue Recognition and Reporting with Campfire
Campfire’s AI-native ERP delivered the automated revenue and financial reporting workflows Replit needed to drive internal efficiency without scaling headcount.
From day one, the Campfire team worked directly with Tim to onboard the platform without friction. “If there was ever a bug or if we had configured something incorrectly, Campfire was always one Slack message away,” Tim shares. “That level of responsiveness has remained intact even to this day.”
Thanks to Campfire’s native Stripe integration, whenever a transaction flows through Stripe, Campfire automatically pulls the data, generates a revenue waterfall, and prepares journal entries for recognized and deferred revenue. What previously required several days of manual data collection and report building now takes a fraction of the time. "Closing revenue alone used to take a full day. Now it takes 30 minutes. That's the kind of time savings that compounds," shares Tim.
Since integrating Campfire, the bespoke reporting capabilities Tim couldn’t unlock using QuickBooks are now built into his daily workflow. Previously, producing tailored financial statements meant exporting data to Excel, manually adjusting the output, and rebuilding the process each time a new request came in. Now, when Tim needs a report for a board meeting or an auditor request, he builds it directly in Campfire using custom formulas and easily slices data by department, location, or tag.
For a fast-moving, AI-first company like Replit, Campfire’s ERP proved to be the ultimate force multiplier.
“I used to build reports outside the ERP in Excel. Now I can bake custom formulas directly into Campfire and get exactly what I need within minutes.”
Results
Substantial Time Savings, Operational Efficiency, and a Foundation for Long-Term Growth
With Campfire, Replit's 4-person finance team effortlessly manages over $200 million in ARR, while operating at an efficiency level that would have required a workforce more than double its size. The fragmented, manual workflows that once drove operational bottlenecks are now streamlined, easily repeatable functions that scale with the company’s explosive growth.

Looking ahead, Tim is eager to lean more into Ember to produce accruals and custom reporting requests on his team’s behalf. “We’re excited to see how the platform will support our workflows as the underlying AI infrastructure continues to improve,” Tim shares. “Our roadmap alignment is strong, which gives us confidence for the future.”
