What's New in Campfire: August 2026

This month's release is anchored by three real upgrades to Ember, a rebuilt Stripe integration, and a set of reporting improvements finance teams have been asking for. Here's everything that shipped.

Ember gets faster, deeper, and more consistent

Choose Fast or Pro, right from the chat box

Ember now lets you pick how it works on a question. Fast, running on Claude Haiku, answers quickly for straightforward lookups. Pro, now running on Claude Sonnet 5, thinks longer for harder problems like flux analysis or complex reconciliations. Use whichever fits the question in front of you.

Skills now produce the same result every time

Ember saves the tested logic behind a skill and reuses it exactly as saved on every run. That moves the step from probabilistic to deterministic: a fresh guess each time becomes a fixed, tested calculation that's easier to audit and trust.

Ember can now open the attachments on your records

Point Ember at the signed PDF on a contract or the scanned invoice on a bill and ask what's inside. This works across contracts, bills, invoices, journal entries, fixed assets, close tasks, and approval drafts.

Ember now has access to the Lease module

Ask lease questions directly in chat and generate lease reporting for ASC 842 alongside everything else Ember already covers.

Rule suggestions, built from how you actually work

The Continuous Close Agent now monitors how you match transactions and proposes rules based on what it sees. The matches you make by hand today become automatic going forward. Reach out to your CSM to get added to the beta.

Payments and billing

Stripe 2.0

We rebuilt our Stripe integration from the ground up. A new sync engine keeps even your largest accounts moving reliably at scale, with health checks monitoring every stage of the sync behind the scenes.

Choose how far back your Stripe history comes in

The Stripe connection now has a Migration Start Date alongside the Pull From Date. Set it, and open and amortizing history comes back as far as you choose, so multi-year prepaid contracts keep their full revenue schedules. Leave it blank and nothing changes.

Pass card processing costs through to your customers

Configure the surcharge once and Campfire applies it to Stripe-processed invoices, tracked and posted correctly. Available for customers using Avalara with USD invoicing.

Automatic tax handling for resellers

Anrok now applies the correct tax treatment for reseller relationships automatically, including resale exemptions and cases where the reseller collects the tax instead of you. One less manual override to track.

Automatic reconciliation for Ramp Business Account reimbursements

If you pay reimbursements out of a Ramp Business Account, Campfire now matches each payout in your bank feed back to the reimbursement it paid, automatically. Matching is deterministic, based on the payment identifier Ramp assigns to each batch, never a guess from names or amounts.

Send billing emails from your own verified Google account

Campfire is now a Google-verified app. Connect your account and send invoices, reminders, and follow-ups from your own branded email address.

CC contacts by title on invoice reminders

Invoice reminders can now CC contacts by their title, like AP Contact or CEO, instead of needing an exact name and email typed in. Add multiple titles to a single reminder, and Campfire pulls in whoever is listed under each one from your contacts, so the right people stay looped in as your contacts change.

Reporting and the ledger

Group your custom reports by account subtype

Roll the Balance Sheet up by account subtype, Bank, Accounts Receivable, Prepaid, Fixed Asset, and the rest, instead of a flat list under Assets, Liabilities, and Equity. Works on both the standard and custom Balance Sheet, each subtype gets its own subtotal, and you can hide account-level detail if you just want the totals.

Trial Balance, in the format you need

Trial Balance now supports two views: the standard four-column layout (Beginning Balance, Debits, Credits, Ending Balance) and a single signed-column view with credits shown in parentheses. Switch to whichever format you prefer.

Consolidate your retained earnings

Select a retained earnings account in Chart of Accounts settings, turn on "Combine with calculated retained earnings," and your calculated balance displays under that account, consolidated with anything already posted there so your balance sheet shows one clean number.

Multi-select filters in custom reports

Custom Report filters now accept multiple values. Build a single report across more than one entity, department, or tag instead of running separate reports for each.

A cleaner look across tables and reports

Tables and reports across Campfire got a refreshed look this week: pinned columns, sticky headers, easier column customization, and keyboard navigation. This is a visual update only, nothing functional has changed.

Integrations, workflow, and account controls

Create anything from anywhere

A new + button in the top bar opens a Create new menu on every page: journal entry, intercompany journal entry, bill, invoice, credit memo, debit memo, or payee.

See invoice status without leaving HubSpot

Map invoice fields, like payment status and paid date, onto the corresponding deal in HubSpot. Set it up once, and your sales team can see where an invoice stands right on the deal.

Pull Custom Reports into Coefficient

If you use Coefficient, you can now pull your Campfire Custom Reports straight into Google Sheets or Excel, and keep them refreshable from there.

In-app notifications

Campfire can now notify you directly in the app, whether it's a connection that needs attention or a new feature we think you'd want to know about.

See every active session, end any of them

Settings → Profile now shows everywhere your account is signed in: device, browser, and last activity. Sign out of any session, or all of them at once.
